You have found Shepherds Lounge, refined simplicity of an Ellijay cabin set in the secluded beauty of nature, located 15 minutes from Downtown Ellijay inside the beautiful neighborhood of Coosawattee River Resort. Enjoy a 13 minute nature ride surrounded by ducks, deer and other wildlife as you make your way to the cabin and relish in the sounds of nature as you drive up a gravel road to the front door. A large, fully fenced backyard filled with wood chips, cypress mulch, a doggy pool filled with balls and toys is waiting for you and your dog(s)!
Dogs stay for free! Welcome to Shepherd's Run! We Love Dogs and welcome all breeds and sizes! This fully renovated cabin sits on 1.6 acres and is surrounded by pasture and mountain views, wild turkeys, guinea hens, goats and horses. The grounds are covered in wild peppermint, the fragrance is hanging in the air and so refreshing! Your furry family members will enjoy 2 fenced outdoor play areas, one with fire pit, seesaw, 3 truck tires to run through or jump over, a sniffari route with stones, hay, and posts to sniff at, jumping noodles and jolly balls of all sizes. Just added - a huge sandbox for digging! Yay!

We, Barbara (originally from Germany) and Andrea (originally from Austria) are best friends of 25+ years and veterans of the service industry.
I prefer to travel by car and take my 2 White German Shepherds with me. The amount of items I had to pack just for my dogs!! To add insult to injury, after many hours on the road, you find empty kitchen cabinets, not even a hint of salt, no shampoo, no laundry detergent, soggy mattresses, stained linens, not even a bottle of water.
We decided to do much better than that!
Busy bees compiled a list of all the things we would like to find upon arrival, how we would like to be hosted and how the dogs should be treated and then we started looking for properties. Shepherds Lounge was our first step into the super dog friendly short term hospitality business, followed by Shepherds Run. Number 3 is already in the pipeline…(ssh, it’s a secret).
