Welcome to Paws and Linger Retreat, a unique, octagon-shaped sanctuary nestled on the serene banks of the Ellijay River. Just five minutes from Downtown Ellijay, yet secluded enough to feel like a world away, this retreat offers the perfect blend of convenience and tranquility. Whether you’re a couple seeking a romantic getaway, a solo traveler in need of a peaceful escape, a group of friends looking to unwind over a spa weekend and at local vineyards, or a remote worker craving a change of scenery, Paws and Linger Retreat has something for everyone.

With a fully fenced yard, elevated dog beds, crates, drinking stations and a doggy pool, your dogs will feel right at home. You’ll find thoughtful touches throughout, from furniture covers, dog towels and a treat jar in the kitchen to a well-stocked first aid kit, toys and bowls. We never charge a dog fee, because we believe your dogs are family and should be treated as such!

Inside, the main bedroom features a king-size bed with silky linens, a plush comforter, and blackout curtains for the ultimate in relaxation. The adjacent office space is perfect for remote work, complete with a height-adjustable desk, computer display, and printer. The full bathroom offers a spa-like experience with a steam shower, LED lights, and a Bluetooth radio.

The open-concept living area includes leather recliners, a 65" ROKU TV with Sony soundbar, and a cozy, original “Fisher” wood-burning fireplace. The fully equipped kitchen boasts all-new LG Smart appliances, a coffee and tea station, cold drinks, even a bar for mixing up your favorite drinks.

Step outside to enjoy the river view from the back deck or unwind in the basement’s wellness area, featuring a yoga space, bicycle, weights, workout bench, infrared sauna, and much more.

Inside, enjoy a fully stocked kitchen, rustic dining for six, comfy sofas, gas fireplace, games, books, and TVs in every room with YouTubeTV and streaming options.

We’re proudly dog-friendly—complete with crates, toys, bowls, treats, paw towels, and even a doggie first aid kit. After a day of exploring, relax by the fire, soak in the hot tub, or watch deer wander by.

Welcome to Shepherd's Run! This fully renovated cabin sits on 1.6 acres and is surrounded by pasture and mountain views. During spring time, the grounds are covered in wild peppermint, the fragrance is wildly refreshing! Your furry family members will enjoy 2 fenced outdoor play areas, one with fire pit, seesaw, 3 truck tires to run through or jump over, a sniffari route with stones, hay, and posts to sniff at, a fire hydrant, jolly balls of all sizes and a large sandbox for digging! Yay! 

We Love Dogs and welcome all breeds and sizes. Dogs are family. For us the true definition of dog friendly is not a fee, dogs stay for FREE! We like to think we are truly " DOG FRIENDLY". Check out our other properties "Shepherds Lounge" and "Paws and Linger Retreat! 

Just grab your dog(s), their food and any special items they may need. Vineyards are all dog friendly with one exception. So are most of the local hangout places and exterior patios. Thank you and enjoy your stay. We are right off Old Highway 5, minutes from Downtown Ellijay, outdoor activities, restaurants, groceries, shopping and the annual Apple Festival.

DO NOT go beyond the wooden gates surrounding the property, it is private land and our neighbors. When you get to the firewood stand, or to the creek or to the wooden low fence behind our sandbox, you have reached the end of our property! Please DO NOT the neighbors animals.
